The Boyd Innovation Center is on a mission to create a founder-led startup community where Columbia’s entrepreneurs, freelancers, and creatives connect and grow together. Their outdated Squarespace website urgently needed a complete redesign, as it lacked responsiveness and had CSS issues that rendered content difficult to read.
Design a clean, modern, and well-organized website that embodies the center’s innovative spirit and dedication to fostering entrepreneurship. The site needed to be fully responsive, showcase the variety meetups and programs they offer, and more effectively communicate the benefits of becoming a member.
Creating a sitemap for the new website allowed us to better organize the additional pages and restructure existing ones for a more logical flow. For instance, we moved the Mentoring page out of the Events section and combined it with the Job Board to create a new Resources section. This reorganization not only improves navigation but also gives BIC the flexibility to scale and add more resources for founders in the future.
Jon invested significant time in understanding our organization and its ethos, crafting a cohesive online presence that truly reflects our evolving needs and enhances our brand. He provided invaluable, candid feedback on his designs to ensure they genuinely represented our mission and organization. Additionally, he restructured the information architecture, creating a more intuitive experience for our members to easily access events, programs, meetups, and mentors. His creativity, design expertise, and meticulous attention to detail have significantly elevated our online presence.
